Lordy, There are Tapes

I’m going to make a prediction. Donald Trump’s lifelong crime spree has run its course. Karma’s perfect storm is building. From E. Jean Carroll’s defamation civil lawsuit, the criminal election interference charges looming in Georgia, the civil tax evasion and fraud case in New York that come with a recommendation for criminal charges, and Merrick Garland’s DOJ obstruction probe in response to Trump’s efforts to conceal and remove highly sensitive government documents, its all about to crash into justice.

It seems like a lot of a little, and it is the amuse-bouche, (served before the appetizer.) We will feast on espionage, eventually. Speaking of food, a disappointing Lindsey Graham cracker will also be offered for consumption by the state of Georgia.

Bob Woodward is the Washington Post investigative journalist who took down Richard Nixon. Woodward’s choice to hold on to the tapes of his Trump interview is both disappointing and ingenious. He had an ethical obligation to expose Trump earlier, and saving his cache to sell more books is a sleazy move. But, as he has said, Trump poses a threat to our fragile democracy, (my interpretation of his words.) So, if the timing of these tapes dropping sways the midterms, like Comey’s poorly timed announcement of more Hillary emails, then gimme some of that book.

No need to scrape together the ashes of my overheated credit card. We can listen to the tapes for free. The link is attached. I can’t stand Trump’s voice, so I’ll wait for a close caption version.

I’ve stopped bashing Merrick Garland. The tortoise is the one who wins the race, “slow and steady.” He has made his intention to indict Trump clear.

The 1/6 commission enlightening some people who, until those hearings, were unengaged. I am loath to express my disappointment when the pipe bomber’s identity was not exposed. The question, who removed the panic buttons, was not answered.

Why?

This 👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼 was not part of the 1/6 committee investigation. Within days of the failed GOP coup on January 6 these Republican Congress members begged Trump for pardons. They were focused on Trump. How would you like to be Speaker Pelosi and have to work alongside these people?

In contrast, the DOJ investigation is working bottom up. This strategy is conducive to garnering informational confessions from those lower on the food chain, in exchange for a more lenient sentence.

Congratulations! You made it to the end of another of my posts! In exchange for your loyalty, I offer you this. It’s from the internet, so it must be real.

    1. Had to give you this update: ‘Attorney General Merrick Garland and other senior DOJ officials will hold a press conference at 1:30 pm ET today regarding a “significant national security matter.”’
Maybe have the popcorn next to the microwave, but don’t pop it yet.

      1. The press conference was exciting but disappointing. IMO Trump is probably part of the China investigation, but there was no reveal today. Put the popcorn back in the cupboard. ☹️

      2. What’d I miss? That Clarence Thomas gave shifty Lindsey Graham exactly the break he wanted? Damn. I wanted more than that.

  1. If I understand correctly, Thomas reversed an order by a judge in a lower court, who ruled Graham had to testify before a Georgia grand jury regarding his election tampering in Georgia, in 2020. Now it has to be presented to the SCOTUS. Whether or not Graham testifies, this interference is going to delay Graham’s testimony until after the election, which will benefit the GOP. Thomas is a jackass. This is why the SCOTUS has an 11% approval rating.
