As I gather the remnants of my brain (it just exploded) and piece it together, allow me to share this latest round of political injustice. You may remember Democrats lost the House majority in 2022. — Break time to give a shout out to those who don’t vote. — The new House Judiciary Committee is now led by Representative Jim Jordan. Jordan is one of many republicans who ignored House subpoenas issued by the 1/6 committee.
It is for that reason, I am astonished by the hypocrisy of him sending out subpoenas and expecting anyone to comply.
This Republican Party has no shame. There are rules for them and rules for their democratic colleagues, and they don’t line up.
Today, Trump appointed U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil ruled that Alvin Bragg’s ex-deputy Mark Pomerantz, must submit to Jim Jordan’s subpoena, possibly as early as tomorrow.
I’m tired.
The judge, again, appointed by Trump, ruled in favor of (non-compliant) Jim Jordan for a case in which the Manhattan District Attorney has indicted Trump. A state crime! Trump “allegedly” 🙄 claimed hush money payments, made to more than one person, were campaign expenses.
As chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jordan is subpoena happy, issuing subpoenas to Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona and more.
Manhattan DA Bragg, as I write, just filed an appeal to the Second Circuit against the ruling, and the denial of a issuing temporary restraining order to end Jim Jordan’s efforts to interfere with this state criminal proceeding.
Jordan is obstructing Justice by interfering with a state court proceeding. He was among the group who asked Trump for a pardon, to no avail. He is guilty of something and frantic to use his new position to stop the indictments Trump is facing because he knows he is involved.
