I voted today because I still can. This administration has been unsuccessful in its attempt to thin out the number of female voters by 40% by requiring birth certificate names to match names on other required forms of identification. Name changes in marriage are common. Other reasons for the change include avoiding discrimination, safety and privacy, and even correcting clerical misspellings.
I cast my vote by mail because Trump was unsuccessful in his bid to take away that option.
I voted because, as pessimistic as I have become, I am still optimistic enough to believe that we can be a decent country.
