“Donald Trump hasn’t grown into the job, because he can’t, and the consequences of that failure are severe. A hundred and seventy thousand Americans dead. Millions of jobs gone. While those at the top take in more than ever. Our worst impulses unleashed, our proud reputation around the world badly diminished, and our democratic institutions threatened like never before.” ~Barack Obama
Have you been watching the Democratic National Convention this week? I have, and it has been a pleasure, each night better than the night before. This has been a week filled with hours of messages of hope and unity. Joe Biden is the sun breaking through storm clouds after a relentless deluge of venom. I may be waxing poetic, but I needed this week, for my sanity.
These four years have made the US a war zone. We have been attacked by a beast of our own creation. An orange sickness spreading like an airborne virus, criminality unchecked for decades, a psychopath enabled by many who could have stopped his trajectory but looked the other way because they benefitted somehow.
Last night we heard from warriors who have been fighting on our behalf throughout their careers: Speaker Pelosi, Senator Warren, and Secretary Clinton to name a few.
Hillary Clinton reminded us that a popular vote win of 3 million is no guarantee of a presidential win, and urged us to vote like our lives depend on it because they do.
Future VP Kamala Harris, and perhaps POTUS 47, spoke last night.
POTUS 44, President Obama gave the speech he seems to have been suppressing for four years.
Tonight is the last night of the convention, and these are a few speakers on the lineup:
• Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin
• Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg
• New Jersey Senator Cory Booker
• Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms
• Former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg
• Delaware Senator Chris Coons
• Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth
• California Governor Gavin Newsome
• Entrepreneur Andrew Yang
• Former Vice President Joe Biden
Meanwhile, 45’s bad week just got worse. His former campaign manager, Steve Bannon, (he never met him,) has been arrested in New York and charged with fraud. Bannon is the sixth member of Trump’s 2016 campaign to be charged with a felony.

Also, Trump’s attempt to block Manhattan district attorney Vance’s subpoena for his financial records was thrown out this morning.
Thoughts and prayers.
Next week’s RNC will be a devolution into darkness.
But I’ll be focused on Postmaster General DeJoy’s testimony before the House, and his explanation for the destruction of 617 multimillion-dollar mail sorting machines, in districts of key states where the suppression of a handful of votes could alter election resultsu.

Last night was wonderful! Obama did not hold back, and what he said was absolute truth. Each night of the DNC has been better and better. Tonight–icing on the cake.
Isn’t it amazing how Trump does not know all these people that he knew?

I agree! I have enjoyed this week. Obama always makes me feel better. It will be interesting to see how different next week will be.

Don’t you figure the tweets will be flying next week, telling us how great all his speakers are. Should be nauseatingly fun. I’ll have to read about it the next day….
