“When the people fear the government there is tyranny when the government fears the people there is liberty.”

Last night I dreamt about Thor, Norse God of Thunder. I know it’s not poetic, like Martin Luther King Jr’s dream, but this is who I am. I like Thor. In my dream he crashes into a golf course, and uses his hammer to…end our tyranny.
“Every eye fixed itself upon him; with parted lips and bated breath the audience hung upon his words, taking no note of time, rapt in the ghastly fascinations of the tale.” ~Mark Twain, Tom Sawyer
Another superhero I’ve dreamt of is House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff. His words are precise, sharp like forged wootz melted into a Damascus steel sword. I imagine people finally listening to his words, to which Trump responds:
Person! Woman! Man! Camera! TV!
I daydream too, that our Wonder Woman, Nancy Pelosi, lassos a certain malignant narcissist tossing him against a white brick wall, twisting his doughy arms behind him as she uses tiny golden handcuffs to restrain him until the good guys come to lead him to an eternal cell.
“Sally, having swallowed cheese,
Directs down holes the scented breeze,
Enticing thus with bated breath
Nice mice to an untimely death.”
~ Geoffrey Taylor, Cruel Clever Cat:
I understand that we have to remove Barr, Pence, and McConnell at the same time, or it won’t work.
Anyway, these are my dreams, dreamt with bated breath (loud snores,) filled with possibilities, of which Thor is the most likely to come through. If he doesn’t, well then we have 99 days until Election Day. God help us if we don’t all vote.
There is something to look forward to: this Friday Joe Biden will announce his running mate.
“Shall I bend low and, in a bondman’s key, / With bated breath and whisp’ring humbleness,” ~Shakespeare The Merchant of Venice
Now that we see a flicker of light at the end of the abyss, let’s not forget that Trump’s efforts to corrupt our government started immediately upon taking office. His first hundred days were a warm-up for his last 100 which will be merciless.
