Another Week in Trump’s Dismal Hellscape

It is my opinion that today is Friday. I can’t confirm that because, as a Democrat, my understanding of events is regularly questioned. I can affirm that it has been three days since my party swept the 2025 election, which should have sounded alarms for the losers about their vulnerability to voter backlash.

Trump says prices are lower than ever, so
THERE IS NO INFLATION.

It taught Republicans nothing. The response of GOP Majority House Speaker Mike Johnson was to lie more. Fact-checkers be damned, he says what he wants.

The wizard behind the curtain (I don’t know who that is) ordered Republicans to drive fear into the hearts of their constituents. Insist the Democratic Party is unraveling.

How do they do that with a straight face?

Democrats flipped two red states and a swing state:

  • Georgia’s public service commissioner races, Alicia Johnson defeated incumbent Tim Echols by a margin of 58 to 41%, while Peter Hubbard pulverized Fitz Johnson by 61 to 39%.
  • Two State Senate seats in deep-red Mississippi also flipped. This ends the 13-year Republican supermajority.
  • Virginia elected Democrat Abigail Spanberger, the state’s first woman governor, flipping that seat from red to blue.
  • New Jersey Governor-elect, Mikie Sherrill, (Spanberger’s doppelgänger) holding the Democrats line there.
  • New York: winner, winner, chicken dinner. Zohran Mamdani, is [scary music plays] a Muslim. Be afraid! He has threatened to tax the rich, freeze rents, and provide bus transportation for free. The Republican party’s unified scare messaging that he is a “Marxist, socialist, communist.”

Mamdani will implement Shakira law.” ~Kristi Noem, the puppy shooter, really said that.

I like Shakira. Kristi Noem, not so much.

One million rich New Yorkers are going to flee.” ~Twitter bots, An example, link below~Forbes

We will witness traffic out of the city, the likes of which has never been seen … Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, Ferraris, Porsches—all the luxury vehicles speeding away because of the Shakira thing.

  • California, “Prop50,” the response to cancel the governor of Texas’s gerrymandered redistricting, passed. The difference between the two states is that the people of California voted to redraw district lines. Texas citizens didn’t get a vote.

House Speaker, Republican Mike Johnson’s effort to keep the government closed to avoid swearing in Tucson, Arizona, Democratic Representative-elect Adelina Grijalva continues. She was elected on September 23, 2025. Johnson knows she is the last vote needed to release the Epstein files. Trump is in that file.

Trump is withholding SNAP food assistance despite a court order telling him to issue the funds.

Yesterday the judge responded to Trump’s failure to comply with the court order with a directive that he release the funds by Friday. That’s today.

Trump really doesn’t want poor people to eat. He is appealing the decision.

A much-anticipated news conference yesterday was a disappointment to the few people who still think Trump will ever do anything good.

Dr. Oz Links Dementia and Obesity
Trump Slumps Just Feet Away

The principal speaker was Dr. Oz, who announced they would seek to lower the cost of Ozempic. Trump scrapped Biden’s plan for Medicare to cover the drug for type 2 diabetes. Now they’re taking credit, but they say the price will be $50; that’s down from $1,170. Oz discussed health benefits while an Ozempic executive standing behind him passed out. Oz, I guess he is a doctor, dashed to help. RFK Jr. bolted to leave the room. Trump woke up, gawked, and then stood facing forward, looking detached from his surroundings.

What they didn’t say—this is just me thinking outside the syringe. Trumpflation and withheld SNAP benefits will mean hangry voters. Cheap Ozempic would eliminate hunger. People won’t need to spend as much at the … what’s the word … that place you’re required to show an ID to buy food …?

Voters on Tuesday rewarded Democrats who addressed economic costs. Hours later, Trump said he delivered an ‘economic miracle.’

Besides the big Ozempic reveal, Dr. Oz announced a plan to lower the price of fertility drugs, paving the way for “Trump babies.”

Breeding voters is all they have.

  1. How in the heck do you appeal an order to feed the American people??!! JD set me straight: “We’re not going to listen to a federal judge.” Well, shut my mouth, JD. I think what you meant to say is, “We’re not going to listen to any judge.” How many people on SNAP voted for Trump? Let’s see a show of hands right now! Yeah, I guess that poor man with the medical emergency really cut into Trump’s prime time. Better have less people in the office next time…

  2. Oh for gosh sakes–I just read that there were questions about RFK Jr leaving the room when that man fainted. ‘They’ say he went to get the man a chair. Trump stood up for cryin’ out loud! Let the man sit in his chair!

    1. Critical thinking skills are not required for RFK Jr.’s job. And the stable genius would have sat down without realizing the chair wasn’t there. I thought he may have had PTSD and fled out of anxiety. I can’t fault him for that, but I take issue with every single other thing about him.

  3. I will never understand how one guy, this “speaker” of “the house” can hold everyone hostage by not calling legislators back to their jobs. I assume they are still being paid to do nothing, but really, how does one guy have all this power? As a Canadian, I really want to know…what kind of government is this?

  4. I had a thought a few days ago about Dr. Oz. He is actually a doctor, a heart guy. Is he Agent Orange’s attending specialist? The press makes a big whoop about when Agent Orange has extra check ups and goes to Walter Reed, so keeping the fact he needs continuous care on the DL makes sense. Oz is slimy, but I don’t think he is necessarily a bad doctor so much as not caring for patients over making a profit.

    1. OZ is the most qualified among Trump’s cabinet, but he’s equally unethical, IMO. He’s made himself into a snake oil salesman, using his medical license to profit from supporting products and procedures that either don’t work or are harmful.
