Post Debate Analysis By An Observant Voter (Me)

In my post yesterday, I stuck up for CNN a bit when I wrote something to the effect of:

The format they agreed to was “hands-off moderators.” Those rules allowed Trump to lie without corrections or interruptions. I believe that was the only way he would agree to debate.

Having said that, they needed a rolling banner at the bottom, a disclaimer- “If Donald Trump’s lips are moving, he is lying.”

Today, online pundits are accusing CNN of having used poor lighting on President Biden to give him the most feeble appearance as possible, and setting his mic at a lower volume than Trump’s.

As for Trump, they say his lighting was filtered to mute his orange glow and they turned his mic up. He appeared a smooth liar.

The Post Debate Analysis:

CNN released fact checking four minutes after most people turned off their televisions. “Trump lied,” tv’s were off.

President Biden exited the debate stage, greeted by his wife, he said, “You know, Jill, I don’t know what happened. I didn’t feel that great.”

She responded, “We’re not going to let 90 minutes define the four years you’ve been president.”

Here is where my confusion lays:

The morning after the debate, Biden’s skin color regained its healthy glow, and his scratchy voice was gone. His clarity of mind was sharp and his energy level back up to 11. The difference overnight is stark.

Joe is on a redemption tour and he is killing it. I’m still voting for Joe.

I realize some of you will call me a conspiracy theorist, but this is my thought; I wouldn’t be surprised if Putin or Trump had somebody drug him. It is not beneath Trump’s values to do so. Was he drugged?

Meanwhile Trump unabashedly plans coup two.

After the debate, a Russian embassy staff plane parked next to Trump’s plane.

Payment? Exchange of classified documents? Donald Trump is a felonious thug. His friends are criminals and mobsters. I believe he is capable of anything. Let’s ask his first wife what she thinks… oh, we can’t.

Gen Z Humor

I wish I could laugh.

  1. Yesterday Bob Woodward asked strongly “what happened,” implying that there may have been some occurrence outside the scope of the debate — a bad decision on the part of Putin or Netanyahu, a disastrous strike in Ukraine or Gaza, or some other major disaster that we don’t yet know about. Just another thought to add to the mix ~ ~ ~

  2. Just read this now, but the Philadelphia Inquirer is calling for Trump to withdraw and I quote:“The debate about the debate is misplaced. The only person who should withdraw from the race is (Donald) Trump. But lost in the hand wringing was Donald Trump’s usual bombastic litany of lies, hyperbole, bigotry, ignorance, and fear mongering. His performance demonstrated once again that he is a danger to democracy and unfit for office. But he won’t, so Joe Biden is gonna beat him in November. Carry on.”

    Can I get an AMEN.

    1. We need more of this! I think people who didn’t watch the debate are listening to fact checkers and some of the attacks against Joe are losing steam. Words matter. I hope this ends well.

      1. I agree. A lot of people watched the first 10-15 minutes of the debate, did not like what they saw and turned it off. Kamala said, we have 130 days…lot can happen.

      2. The first fifteen minutes were the worst of it. Yes, four months is enough time to wake people up if Democrats speak up and the media does its job. Kamala has been doing a great job.
