To be Bob Villa would be so divine
The state of my house would not be in decline
First the rail on my stair
A wood splitting repair
By the master of a table saw with a post of pine
A tool pouch slung low on my hip
A cordless hammer drill in my hands grip
I’d snap a chalk line
These tools are all mine
Even a generator should a circuit breaker trip
1″ chisel and mallet- not for Ice
A clamp with a grip that’s much like a vise,
Flip my wrist at leisure
18 feet by tape measure
Marked with my carpenter pencil so precise.
Were I Bob with every repair needed
I’d laugh hard before I proceeded
To complete each repair
Without mussing my hair
My property value would rise unimpeeded.

We actually WROTE to him. But we aren’t special enough. No one is suffering from ALS or doing something exceptionally socially meritorious. We’re just tired old people with a crumbling house. How boring.
