This post is as disjointed as our country, and that’s by design.
We are in living in what history will confirm is the dumbest timeline in U.S. history. Will we survive it? The nonsense and absurdity, the blatant criminality, the embezzlement of our tax dollars, and worst of all, the crippling apathy of those powerful enough to stop it.
Trump admits he has no opinion on the financial anxiety caused by his policies. He’s burning through our money, without a thought for… inflation. And he claims the Trump-Netanyahu attack on Iran (his botched foreign policy) is worth it.

Trump wants taxpayers to fund:
- A ballroom: he said it was fully funded by donors. The work on it stopped after demolition because he pocketed the cash and didn’t pay the contractor. There were 30,000 lawsuits filed against him for similar practices before his first term.
- An Arch: another vanity project so disconnected from what voters need that only his lack of self awareness allows him to say it out loud.
- A reflecting pool: right out of a Jane Austen novel. He does not read, so why?
- Pocket money: sum $10 billion. source—Google AI
Donald Trump is suing the IRS and the Treasury Department for “at least $10 billion.”
In January of this year, Trump, his Jr., Eric, and the Trump Organization filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS and Treasury Department. Remember, Trump doesn’t pay taxes, because he’s smart; those are his words. An IRS contractor leaked his tax information during his first term. He says that caused “reputational and financial harm.” That former IRS contractor is serving a five-year prison sentence for stealing and leaking tax records of Trump and thousands of other wealthy individuals. Besides the $10 billion, Trump demands the IRS not conduct audits on him.

I am a lifelong Democrat, very careful not to criticize anyone in the Democratic Party who votes for policies that will maintain the dwindling social services we have. That said, I’m angry.

U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D/NJ) was on ‘Meet the Press’ this week. In his typical overly compassionate insincerity, his plastic political performance, he said the U.S. will always support Israel. Years ago, I realized how easy it is to search every politician’s voting history and where their money comes from. That’s not consistently transparent, but I could see that Corey Booker was among the many who had taken bribes from Big Pharma, and he voted accordingly, allowing them to continue to price gouge. He stopped taking their bribes when he ran for president, but it was too late for him to charm me. He is an opportunist. I think it’s fair to assume Israel has bought him too.

A large group of democratic politicians have fallen into the same traps of corruption that swallowed the GOP. It’s clear that Israel uses our tax dollars to buy our politicians. Israel has healthcare. We don’t. The money we spend to finance their war crimes and political bribes could pay for our healthcare. I hope we will vote every politician who supports Israel out of office. They can retire and enjoy their pension and all the other benefits their constituents fund, but go without. Raise your voices- “NO MORE MONEY FOR ISRAEL.”

Republican Thomas Massie has shocked me. I mocked him years ago for his ignorance. But now, besides his stance on Israel, he has teamed up with Democratic Representative Ro Khanna to demand full disclosure of the Epstein files. Let’s not forget about those files and enjoy thoughts of all the powerful men who can’t sleep peacefully because they are afraid they will be found out… Bill Gates.
Think about how vast the corruption is with this executive branch. Donald Trump and his cabinet don’t seem to think there will ever be consequences for their crimes. There are too many to list. If MAGA really wanted to “make America great again” they would demand justice for all. Trump, the Kushners, his cabinet… Times have changed.

I often think of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. Despite serious competition, they remain among the most notorious figures in American history. Our justice system convicted them of crimes that are being committed again but are going unpunished today. They were convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage on March 29, 1951, and executed two years later for passing atomic secrets to the Soviet Union.
The indictments of the Rosenbergs were predicated on evidence provided by individuals who had already confessed or been found guilty of espionage, including Ethel’s brother, David Greenglass. He had been a machinist at the Manhattan Project laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico, from 1944 to 1945 when the atomic bomb was being developed there. He testified against the his sister and her husband as part of a plea deal, claiming that Julius, was a Soviet spy, and asked him to gather and share top secret information for the Russians: radar, sonar, jet propulsion engines, and nuclear weapon designs. The Soviets had cut ties with Julius nearly a year before Greenglass delivered atomic information.
Julius Rosenberg had engaged in non-atomic espionage for the Soviet Union during the 1940’s. Spy or not, without his input, the information the Soviets had extracted from others would have been useless.
Many historians agree that there was insufficient evidence against Ethel Rosenberg and that the judge should have exonerated her. Instead, her two young sons were orphaned.

It was Greenglass who transmitted the atomic bomb information to the Soviets. This reminds me of Billy Joel’s lyrics, “only the good die young.” It’s bullshit not true. The life expectancy for males born in 1922 in the United States was 59.6 years according to UC, Berkeley demographic data. Greenglass died of natural causes at the age of 92, in prison.
Like countless women in history, Ethel was a victim of circumstance. Her execution required three attempts due to technical difficulties. Women throughout history have been persecuted, controlled, exploited, and, paradoxically, dismissed.

In a perfect world men would not diminish women. The wealthy would not denude the poor. Racism would not exist. Religion would not be a political weapon. Children and animals would be safe. Peace would matter more than power. We do not live in that world. I’m tired.
We deserve better from our elected officials; they can end the corruption.
Speak it, Lydia! Massie has been such a surprise, and he is not letting up! Who would have thought that?!
I do find that Agent Orange’s policies are incredible. Expected, given his history but not credible. Even worse, which is saying something, is the spinless kowtowing of the entirety of the GOP(Good Ole Perverts). Yes, there are issues with some Democrats, but there is variety, something there really isn’t among the GOP. They are ALL corrupt perverts. As you say Massie seems an exception. But doesn’t that basically prove the rule? I suspect that he may be a designated survivor for the conservatives.
