Oh Lord won’t you buy me… forgive what is to follow, which you will likely never read. Dear readers, if you are easily offended, come back tomorrow; I’ll work on a limerick to make up for this.
“Some men improve the world only by leaving it.“
~Oscar Wilde
Former Senator Joe Lieberman died this week. Who will set aside his backstabbing conduct long enough to attend services today? That was a rhetorical question that does not require an answer. I don’t really care. Do you?

In 2000, he was Al Gore’s running mate. He seemed like a great guy, but looks can be deceiving. What transpired to change my opinion of him?
He advocated the Iraq war and joked about torture during a Dick Cheney roast.
Calling himself a Democrat, he supported John McCain in 2000, rather than the Democratic nominee Barack Obama. He endorsed Sarah Palin as McCain’s running mate. “She is a leader we can count on to help John shake up Washington.” Ain’t that some shhh…
He is entitled to support his ‘olde frend.’ (I used olde English spelling because that’s how … mature their friendship was.)
No longer loyal to his party, Lieberman called himself an “Independent Democrat.” Good one. 🥱
When the Affordable Care Act was being debated in 2010, Lieberman killed the “public option.” That had been envisioned as a government insurance plan on par to compete against private healthcare. President Obama had to omit it from the Affordable Care Act to garner enough votes for ACA to pass. Thanks Lieb- for a downgraded system. It’s still the best option most of us have.

Despite that, what he did next was most unforgivable. He lent his backing to Donald Trump. To his dying day, he worked behind the scenes to secure Trump’s wins. Most recently, he was behind the creation of the third party “No Labels.” The same dark money groups that support Trump fund it.

You may add the “No Labels” party to the growing list of spoilers. We are witnessing the resurrection of team Kremlin’s Green 2016 spoiler, Jill Stein.
The biggest threat for 2024 is RFK Jr., the anti-vax conspiracy theorist who is endorsed by Steve Bannon and Rodger Stone. His popularity will come from his name recognition. American royalty, like that of the Brits, is imperfect. He could leach enough votes to give Trump the win. He knows he can’t win.

It is telling that his entire family endorses Joe Biden.

In RFK Jr.’s case, the Apple fell far from the tree. After it fell, it rolled downhill and did countless drugs. It married a few apples from other trees and cheated on them all. One hanged herself. He just dug up that apple’s coffin and buried long away from the family orchard.
RFK Jr.’s infidelities tortured Mary Kennedy, the mother of his children, wife #2; she ended her life. Without a permit to do so, or notifying her family, he had her grave dug up and moved away from the Kennedy plot to an empty one. What a great guy.
Mary Kennedy’s body dug up, moved away from family plot
Lieberman died yesterday at 82, a young age when you consider Rupert Murdoch is 93 and still on a rampage.
Random fact: The average lifespan for men in the U.S. is 76.4. Billy Joel was right when he sang “only the good die young.”
