That headline is misleading. tRump is driving a golf cart with one hand and sitting on the other hand while the death toll in America exceeds 100,000 thanks in great part to his three-month refusal to take action.
While an overwhelming majority of Americans grasp the danger tRump poses, his base fights against the oppression of wearing masks to prevent disease and celebrates the freedom to express germs on this holiday weekend.
tRump is a menace to society, but not only in the U.S. On the other side of the world Beijing has taken advantage of COVID-19 lockdowns to advance attacks against Hong Kong.
In response to Hong Kong’s continued fight for autonomy from China’s communist party, 23 international communities have responded to Beijing’s assault in a joint letter, calling it a “comprehensive assault on the city’s autonomy, rule of law and fundamental freedoms”.
The US response: “🦗 🦗 🦗…” (not cockroaches, they’re crickets🙄)
Trump’s lack of leadership threatens democracies globally, which in turn threatens our democracy. In many cases, his failure to act in our best interest can be traced to his personal financial debts to communist countries. tRump owes tens of millions of dollars to the Bank of China, which recently prompted an investigation into his decision to donate 17.8 tons of personal protection equipment (PPE) and medical supplies, to China in February. That act left American healthcare workers and first responders without the essential supplies they needed. tRump went so far as to order federal agents to seize supplies of PPE that hospitals had on hand. Countless healthcare workers died after being infected.
