In
2002
I was gifted
An IPod touch.
To share
With my ex
I remember
Looking at the giver
My in-law
Wondering why
He thought
I had time for this
I sound ungrateful
But
With three children
Under five
And crazy work hours
I didn’t have time
To shave both legs
On the same day
I was sure
My name was
An afterthought on the gift
It was not intended for me
Two years later
The ex traded up
The iPod became mine
I stopped writing
On paper
With ink
And instead
Use tiny electronics
Typing
With my thumbs

The Daily Post, September 11, 2015, Daily Prompt: Handwritten~ When was the last time you wrote something by hand? What was it?

What a waste of time all those hours of typing class were. I never knew I had thumbs until I got my IPad.
I can’t type with my thumbs! I only could use my pointer finger. Is it because I only got an iPhone? My hubby gave me an iPad but returned it to him. He now uses it.
I can only advise practice… 😉
Oh, my dear Lydia. I had no idea your children were so young! I thought they were teenagers! I love the line “I don’t have time to shave both legs on the same day.” It deserves a bumper sticker!!!! If I lived closer I would come babysit while you took a loooooooong relaxing bath. And shaved both legs at once! http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/09/11/we-fill-in-the-blanks/
They are teenagers now Judy, but I would have taken you up on that offer a few years ago. 😉
