This Too Shall Dry

I carry with me
As you will soon see
Quite a bit of un-wheeled bulky baggage:
A property that’s
substantially taxed
In disrepair and heavily mortgaged

In residence are three
Who test my sanity
Hormonally challenged teenagers
They’re angst plagued souls
But they have goals
In the end they’ll be fine- I’d wager

More responsibility
Another group of three
A big dog, a small dog, a huge reptile
Providing for all
On an income that’s small
A challenge with which I will reconcile

Into a corner I’m painted
Slow drying paint I’m aquatinted
I’ve made choices, this is recompense
In another five years
The floor dried beyond fears
Dancing on it will then recommence

Tight Corner
Have you ever managed to paint yourself into the proverbial corner because of your words? What did you do while waiting for them “to dry”?
