Trump, is openly laying the groundwork for an oil-driven war that he claims is part of his war on drugs. His misconduct isn’t original; whether echoing the tactics of authoritarian strongmen or replaying the worst decisions of past administrations, he’s dragging us toward violations of international law while threatening those who challenge him.
We now know why Pete Hegseth has been bombing Venezuelan fishing boats, vessels that didn’t have the capacity to cross the ocean to reach U.S. soil, insisting they’re trafficking narcotics. “They are smuggling drugs” is Trump’s justification for war, just like “they have weapons of mass destruction” was for the Bush–Cheney administration.
Seizing rigs in international to line his pockets and serve agendas that have nothing to do with us. Trump doesn’t care about our troops anymore than Putin cares about the 1.5 million casualties of his attack on Ukraine.
How many ways can a draft-dodging felon misuse our military? He already deployed them illegally to intimidate U.S. cities. Now he’s using them to seize a ship in international waters so he can steal its oil. Pirating an oil rig, but who gets the booty? It certainly will not be the taxpayers who are funding the excursion.
This is the Republican modus operandi. They take White House and immediately transfer wealth from the poor and middle class to the rich.

Now your sons and daughters, who enlisted to defend the country, not to menace their neighbors, are being deployed on American streets in ways constitutional scholars warn are blatantly unlawful. Troops are not obligated to carry out illegal orders, but they are coerced to do just that.
We can guess what’s next. The five-time draft-dodger will wage war against Venezuela, sending “boots on the ground” to steal oil. He’s been looking for a country to attack just like Putin is attacking Ukraine for their rich minerals. Trump has threatened Greenland, Panama, Iran, etc.

There is a reason the tourism industry in the U.S. has lost over $30 billion this year. We have invasive and hostile customs policies. They want access to your social media data, your email addresses and the names and addresses of family members before allowing you in, and even then your welcome is risky.
I think it’s obvious, but I’ll say it anyway: Tourists should cancel or delay vacations to the U.S. Spend money somewhere that doesn’t subject travelers to the whims of overreaching Customs and Border Patrol Agents whose abuse of power is often in violation of international law. Customs and Border Patrol plans to charge a new $250 fee to compensate agents for their time, which will be used to search your social media over the last five years.
