Let’s Review Cuts For Medical Research

What is wrong with him? The monster and his ghouls have terminated medical research, affecting a long list of health concerns, including cancer. There is was great news. scientists are were on the brink of creating a cancer vaccine.

But Trump and DOGE defunded cancer research by 40%, $1 billion. Why cure cancer when you can give billionaires another tax cut?

But wait, there’s more: scientists are were testing a new MS treatment that seems seemed to be working. Volunteers suffering with MS are were lined up to be part of the testing phase. There is was hope here where there has had been none.

Once again, Trump has slashed medical research. The Republican-controlled Congress passed a stopgap spending bill that wiped out funding for the Multiple Sclerosis Research Program (MSRP)—the only dedicated federal source for MS research. Run through the Department of Defense; the MSRP had fueled breakthroughs benefiting both veterans and the public. The cut stemmed from reductions to the larger Medical Research Program cuts directed by the Republican majority in Congress, leaving appropriations committees to decide which programs lived and which died. So, MS research is dead. It’s all part of the “Big Beautiful Bill.”

The Trump administration’s attacks on research have driven scientists out of the U.S., forcing them to relocate in order to continue their work—while countries like Australia, China, France, and others across Europe and Asia (thankfully) recruit them.

Other Cuts

In addition to cancer and multiple sclerosis research cuts:

  • “Sickle Cell Disease: In July 2025, a $750,000 research grant for sickle cell disease was terminated, somehow citing DEI funding as their reason. The cut also impacted the CDC division focused on blood disorders.
  • Infectious Diseases: A $1.5 billion program from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) covering viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, and tuberculosis was reduced to $300 million. A significant portion of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) budget is also targeted for cuts.
  • HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria: Funding for major global health initiatives, including the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the Global Fund, is being phased out or eliminated.
  • Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease: The Trump administration attempted to cut funding for Alzheimer’s research in its initial budget proposal, although Congress did not pass the severe cuts. New grant reviews were also halted for a time in early 2025.
  • Mental Health: Research grants covering mental health have been terminated.
  • Cardiovascular Disease: The proposed budget includes cuts to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Research into cardiovascular diseases was also put at risk by early 2025 funding freezes.
  • COVID-19 and mRNA Vaccines: Existing grants and new funding for mRNA vaccine research were targeted for cuts in mid-2025. A study into long COVID was also abruptly terminated.
  • Health Disparities: The administration has targeted research aimed at narrowing health gaps between racial and socioeconomic groups, citing a ban on federal diversity, equity, and inclusion policies. A study involving birthing doulas for high-risk women was ended, though critics noted it had broader benefits.”

In other news, Kim and Khloé Kardashian—joined, perhaps, by other Kardashian-Jenners feeling haggard—have taken their obsession with eternal youth a step too far. Flying to Mexico for stem cell therapy, Khloé framing it as treatment for a sore shoulder from lifting weights. This is apparently a thing. Shallow, self absorbed, narcissists, are using a life-saving therapy to “rejuvenate” their aging cells, while countless people can’t afford the treatment to survive. [Head explodes, post finished by AI-me] This is unethical at best.

Stem cell therapies were not created for plastic people. They were created to treat conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders through transplants. There is a possibility that someday it will be used to treat heart disease, neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s, type 1 diabetes, osteoarthritis, and severe eye conditions such as age-related macular degeneration.

When the rich and famous brag about applying lifesaving treatment to slow their appearance of aging, while dying individuals can’t afford it, we have a problem. In fact, we had a problem without adding this to the mix. The Kardashenners don’t have the mental capacity to understand why this is wrong; if they did, they wouldn’t talk about it. This is a reminder that the wealth gap dividing the elite from ordinary people is insurmountable, and life threatening. After the upcoming elections in November, Trump’s budget cuts will begin.

This is one part of all things wrong with the United States under Republican leadership. Our officials voted to hurt their constituents, but they have lifetime health insurance paid for by those who they robbed.

We need universal healthcare in the United States like every other industrialized nation. Health insurance, an unnecessary middleman, stands between doctors and patients, serving no purpose besides enriching people who know nothing about the procedures or drugs they are denying.

More Gavin Newsom memes because they make me happy.

Here we see Gavin showing MAGA how stupid their idolatry of Trump is.
This needs to be on the list of repairs.
Jesus would not be MAGA.
