Propagandists are still trying to put a positive spin on this. I wonder how many people who voted MAGA “for the economy” realize our post covid economy with President Biden was the strongest in the world? We had the lowest inflation rate. Do they get it now? He’s still lying.
Yesterday, Trump said egg prices have come way down. Do people take his word and buy $7 eggs thinking wow, what a great felon we elected? Does he know we can see the prices?
The spin the administration is pushing is: “You need to break a few eggs to make an omelette.” The problem is THE RICH ARE EATING THE OMELETTES.
A few republicans are trying to separate themselves from what is happening to the economy, but Congress, led by the GOP, granted Trump the authority to take this action and has the power to reverse it at any time. However, they won’t, even though many of them know tariffs will lead to serious problems—because they fear crossing Trump. As a result, they now share responsibility for the consequences.
The world has turned its back on us and we are (pardonnez mon français) fucked.
