Congressional Representative Kevin McCarthy walked down a wide hall, and “kidney punched” representative Tim Burchett using his elbow, while Burchett was being interviewed by NPR. Burchett gave chase and confronted McCarthy who denied all.
McCarthy’s response: “Oh come on, that’s not who I am.”
When the interview resumed Burchett said McCarthy is like a kid who would “hide behind his mama’s skirt.”
In addition to the audio of what transpired, there were reporters who witnessed the hit. Additionally, because McCarthy has a history of violent and threatening behavior toward co-workers, it’s difficult to accept his side of the story.
Former Republican Representative Adam Kinzinger, a member of the 1/6 commission, recounts in his book “Renegade” two distinct instances during his time in Congress, when McCarthy “shoulder-checked” him at work. Both incidents occurred after Kinzinger spoke out against Trump.
Similarly, Eric Swalwell talks about McCarthy blocking his way to the men’s room and threatening violence.

So… all the witnesses and victims are lying? Any real job would have McCarthy escorted off the premises by guards after Human Resources confiscated his badge access to the building.
Republican representative Matt Gaetz, currently under a House Ethics Committee investigation for sex trafficking teenage girls, filed an ethics complaint against Kevin McCarthy for kidney punching Burchett.
Hmm… that’s kind of ironic.
Congressman Van Orden calls Gaetz an immature man child.
Congressman James Comer referred to Congressman Jared Moskowitz as a Smurf after facing criticism for engaging in behavior he criticizes in his call for the President’s impeachment.
And finally, the Senator from Oklahoma Mark Mullin threatened to fight a witness during a Senate hearing and the fight was stopped by [checks notes] Bernie Sanders.
Google the Oklahoma representative, and you learn he was one of the loudest voices in opposition to President Biden’s plan to forgive $10k of student loans.
Another search reveals that he took a Paycheck Protection Program loan. Mullin’s plumbing and services businesses, according to a database created by ProPublica, a nonprofit journalism organization, received $1.45 million in PPP loans that has been forgiven.
We pay members of congress a minimum annual salary of $174,000. If they manage to keep stay in congress for five years they win a lifetime pension beginning at age 62 as well as lifetime healthcare benefits. Remember republicans want to change the Social Security retirement age to 70. It was 62, then 65, and now 67.
My title needs a disclaimer. If you have an ounce of moral consciousness, you must have a very particular set of skills, and run as a democrat.
