Leaving early to avoid stress of being late
My automobile stopped at a crossing gate
Inconvenienced- by a Canadian railway train
My early start slowly steadily waned
Freight cars strain under weight as they pass
Outpaced by germination of a seed of grass
Screeching sluggishly to an unscheduled halt
My timeliness dashed- entirely Canadian railways fault
