As a rule, I don’t speak ill of the dead. For that reason, today, I’ll only write about the good things Dick Cheney did.
So yesterday I changed two air filters in my daughter’s car, cabin, and engine. I’ve never done it before, but YouTube, baby. It was easy, and it saved her $60.
Yesterday I ate fried falafel at a middle eastern fast food place. Today my stomach is angry.
I stopped dyeing my hair a couple of years ago. My natural color is now salt and pepper, and it’s gotten long; I vowed to never cut it again. I also bought a package of blue clip-on extensions. I only wear one because I can’t fully commit to anything.

This is me being anti-establishment, but not brave enough to get a tattoo sleeve.
Tomorrow a repairperson is coming to fix my dryer. It’s been screeching and taking forever to dry clothes. It’s always something. Am I right?
In the last few weeks, on random days, I’ve received notifications that my blog “stats are booming.” I look to see what’s garnering all the interest, and the views are of old political posts, no longer relevant. They’re being viewed alphabetically. Several hundred already this morning. My thought is that an AI program is copying my writing style. What else could it be? Is it the Palantir data snatchers at work? Is ICE creating a dossier ready to violate my First Amendment rights? My first pair of trick-or-treaters were gigantic and scary in a non-monster way. Were they new-hire ICE employees casing the joint? Is anyone else experiencing this?
And Dick Cheney is still dead.
Lydia, if your views are suddenly “booming,” your blog is probably under attack from web crawlers (bots) using your posts for AI training. Stating in mid-September, my blog began receiving thousands of views from China. They started to exceed 5,000 a day at one point. Then suddenly it stopped, but started up again in early October. But this time, instead of originating from China, most were coming from the U.S., along with unusually high numbers from Chile and Bangladesh. By last week they were exceeding 2,500 views a day. So I decided to take my blog private. I may, at some point, make it public again, but I also might wait until the new year to get me through the holiday season. Hopefully, when or if I take my blog public again, the bots will no longer target my blog.

Oh great. Yes it was Bangladesh last time and the U.S. now. I think I’ll go underground for a while too. Thank you!
