Putin Visits Alaska

On January 6, 2021, Donald Trump stated he lacked the authority to deploy the National Guard to safeguard the Capitol Building during the attack. Now, the felon has deployed the National Guard to patrol the streets of D.C. and he imposed a curfew, citing “out-of-control” lawlessness.

The reality? Crime would be down in D.C. if not for Donald Trump taking up residence. He is guilty of more crimes than anyone taken into ICE custody. And this brings us one step closer to dictatorship.

D.C. is an easy target for the felon because it has no representation. Isn’t it absurd that Washington, DC, the United States capital, is not a state? Recently, there have been active statehood movements in both Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.

There will be no new states declared during Trump’s chaotic reign. No, they will not attempt to seize Canada to add it to our failing democracy. [checks notes] Trump is a jackass.

The benefits of statehood for D.C. and also for Puerto Rico would be representation in Congress and equal participation in the U.S. political system. They deserve that.

Republicans would never allow those districts statehood because it is likely both would result in more democratic representation. The Senate would gain four seats and win the House majority as well.

Would a new flag with 52 stars be created? What is more likely with Trump squatting in office? A flag with 49 stars.

A quick history refresher: From 1784 to 1867, Alaska was a Russian colony. The United States purchased it from the Russian Empire in 1867 for $7.2 million, a deal made partly for its potential natural resources. That investment paid off decades later, when the 1896 discovery of gold in Canada’s Yukon Territory set off the Klondike Gold Rush. Alaska’s ports, trails, and towns became the primary gateway for thousands of prospectors heading north. In 1959 Alaska and Hawaii became states.

Now, 158 years after the U.S. purchased Alaska, a Russian leader will set foot on that land—not with warships, but with Donald Trump at his side.

Trump and Putin will meet in Alaska to discuss Ukraine without Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine.

The meeting, on Friday, is under the guise of discussing Ukraine. We know Putin dreams of restoring the Soviet Union—and yes, his fantasy map includes Alaska. Maybe Trump will surrender the state.

Alaska’s Senator Lisa Murkowski

All this makes me wonder how Alaska’s Senator Lisa Murkowski feels. Her backroom pact, when she agreed to trade her deciding vote on Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” for “the good of Alaska” … why would anyone deal with a con man, a proven liar? Her act of political cowardice helped cement Trump’s power. 17 million people will lose healthcare. Why provide food assistance to the hungry when you can give another tax cut for those who need it least? His bill, despite cutting social services and destroying people’s lives, will increase the deficit by $3.4 trillion. [checks notes] Lisa Murkowski is a jackass.

Trump has proposed the idea of offering a present to Russia, similar to when he urged Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to guarantee Russia access to their mineral resources for a ‘peace deal.’ Regarding Alaska, Trump aims to offer Putin mineral rights as a hostess gift.

Putin’s goal is to restore the Soviet Union. If he annexes Ukraine, he’ll set his sights on other former Soviet republics: Georgia and Moldova, which have made halting progress toward democracy, while Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania became democratic after independence in 1991. But he doesn’t care.

  1. The mayor of Anchorage was not aware Trump and Putin were going to be in her city. How is that possible?! National Guard in DC but no advance warning on two political people coming to your city?! What kind of looney tunes political games are going on here?

I have to go to that little bell in the R hand corner (next to the Howdy Lois icon) to see some comments. I will receive a ‘like’ but not a comment. No idea why this is happening. Not even going to check with the Happiness Engineers, either. Wish I had better news, Lydia.
