President Jimmy Carter put his family-owned peanut business into a blind trust in 1976, before he took office in 1977. President Carter made a point of separating himself from anything that might appear to be a conflict of interest.
Quiet Piggy is selling guns and advertising them on Fox. The irony here is that as a convicted felon, he cannot own a gun.

Ethics, or even attempting to hide his lack of it, doesn’t concern Trump. He is a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, accused pedophile, and hate monger targeting brown and black people; he takes bribes from foreign autocratic governments, This is easier:

The Emoluments Clause: is a provision in the U.S. Constitution that prevents federal officials, particularly the President, from accepting gifts or payments from foreign or state governments without congressional consent. There are two parts: the Foreign Emoluments Clause, which bars gifts from foreign states, and the Domestic Emoluments Clause, which prohibits receiving other payments from the U.S. or individual states beyond a fixed salary. The clauses are intended to prevent corruption, conflicts of interest, and foreign influence.
Trump has done what he wants to do his entire life and never known a day of consequence. No, not even his name appearing 1000 times in the Epstein files will touch him. In my last post, they will open new investigations, giving them legal cause not to release the report.

This is a terrible week for Republicans in Texas:
First:
A three-judge panel ruled Texas cannot use its new gerrymandered congressional map for the 2026 election and has to revert to the district lines passed in 2021. It would have left millions of minorities without representation. Of course, they’ll appeal, but so will those who sued on behalf of disenfranchised voters. Between that Texas ruling and Indiana’s failure to meet the deadline to redraw their maps, Democrats are now projected to win the redistricting battle. Republicans are crying foul against California’s successful response to the Texas attempt to manipulate numbers … because their plan backfired.
Then:
A federal judge issued an injunction requiring certain public school districts in Texas to remove Ten Commandments displays by December 1st. Freedom of religion is no longer a given in the U.S., where Christianity has become a symbol used by white nationalists and other racists who don’t have any idea what Jesus would do in any situation. He was a refugee. All of us who are not Native Americans are descendants of immigrants.
“God is dead, and we have killed him” ~Friedrich Nietzsche
It is a compelling thought when religion has become a tool for conflict.
But, but without the display of the Commandments in the public schools of the Lone Star State, how are the students to tell what is right and what is wrong? Please, tell me, tell me!
