Dearest weakest Lisa, Senator Murkowski,
What a tortured soul you are—“working hard” for the people of Alaska, at the expense of the country.
To be fair, 49 other senators voted yes with her. But she is taking the weight of the blow back because she promised she’d vote against this monstrosity of a bill. She gave her word. But then came the dealmaking, the crumbs tossed to Alaska, and suddenly her conscience caved. She voted yes.

Thanks to Lisa and the other Senate Republicans, 17-million people will lose their health care in exchange for $1 trillion in tax cuts for billionaires. That trade somehow still increases the deficit by $4-trillion. Three-million Americans, including veterans and seniors, will lose food assistance. Rural hospitals will close. The annual cost of energy will increase on average $400 per household.
Now she has sold us out — again, and the attention won’t let up. Maybe it shouldn’t. She does this every time a controversial vote is held. She plays the ‘I have a conscience’ act quite well. We fall for it every time. Maybe we’re mad at ourselves for hoping she had grown a spine.
She bartered a deal for her state in exchange for the vote that gave Vice President J.D. Vance the opportunity to break the tie.
Whatever they promised you, Lisa, will not happen. They lie. “I owe it to my state…” Wouldn’t it be tragically fitting, if your compromise helped grease the wheels for Alaska, rich in minerals and utterly unprotected, to slide back into Russian hands? Trump does Putin’s bidding, you know.
*Because the senate made so many changes to the bill, it will go back to the House of Representatives this morning for a final vote. There are eight more republican representatives than democrats. This morning is a formality.
Lisa didn’t just betray her word. She betrayed the country. What would the weakest willed Senator add to her statement after casting a vote for a bill she recognizes will cause untold harm to the poor and middle class? What would any coward say, out of fear and after a payoff? Well, first she said it was ‘agonizing‘ to vote for the bill.
[Checks notes- feel sorry for her.]
Then she said,
“I hope it fails in the House.” ~Senator Lisa Murkowski
*Spoiler alert* It won’t.

There is a quote attributed to many people from Abraham Lincoln to Albert Camus:
“Every man over forty is responsible for his face.” ~Abraham Lincoln
“At 20, you have the face nature gave you. At 30, you have the face life has made you, and at 50, you have the face you deserve,” ~Coco Chanel
“At 50, you have the face you deserve.” ~George Orwell
“The aging face as a moral or existential reflection. ~Albert Camus
Oscar Wild was also given credit for a similar quote. I can’t find it.

She is a HUGE disappointment.
