Does Lying Age You?

“We want to cover up [d’oh]… or, overcome some of that problem.” ~Senator Chuck Grassley R/IA

Chuck Grassley is 91 years old, so I’ll answer my question. Yes, lying does age you. I mean, he was only 46 when he became one of Iowa’s Senators. Look at him now. Dianne Feinstein was 90 when she died – she did not retire, despite many requests that she do so.

I don’t assume his age caused his slip of the tongue. I think he forgot who he was talking to because his mind was on finishing the interview in time to partake of the *early bird special for seniors at the Senate Dining Room. The line has gotten out of control.

Why should he care about saving a few dollars? His net worth is difficult to find online, but in 2018, it was over $7.5 million. Between then and now, seven years later, Chuck, (I would rather not use words like embezzlement or fraud because he’s just working the system, unethically. So pretend I didn’t just do that.) the antediluvian senator has collected subsidies for his farm in Iowa. “So what, Lydia?” I’ll tell you so what. He wrote the farm aid bill to the exact specifications that allowed him to secure the most benefits for himself. Small farms got nothing and lost everything.

I have two questions for Chuck.

What’s your net worth now? How much will you need before you flock off to pasture?

You can’t take it with you.

*Disclaimer: I don’t know if the Senate Dining Room has an early bird special. Taxpayers more than likely pick up the tab.
