You may not know who the bearded guy is, so I’ll tell you. Harrison Butker is a football player for the 3x Super-bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. He has one job; to kick the ball.
I only know who he is because of the offensive twenty-minute commencement speech he delivered at Benedictine College in May, where he urged the women graduates to “embrace the vocation of homemaker.”
“I would venture to guess that the majority of you [female graduates] are most excited about your marriage and the children you’ll bring into this world.”
Imagine the graduating women listening to his speech on the day meant to celebrate their educational achievements. I was livid on their behalf. Public backlash was fierce, but his coach and teammates defended him, saying he had a right to his opinion. Be that as it may, the only reason he was invited to speak at the ceremony was his status as the Chiefs’ kicker.
Then, they extended his contract.

Harrison Butker is married with children, but you wouldn’t guess that from his Instagram account. It’s filled with posh photos of himself, not a family picture in sight. You’d think his wife is at home chained to the stove, of course the chain is long enough to reach the kids. Someone should do a wellness check.
