Tuberville is Still Trump’s Useful Idiot

Alabama’s U.S. Senator, Tommy Turberville, the college football coach turned Trump endorsed chaos agent, who has blocked military promotions since March, is in the news.

The headlines would have you believe he is no longer a hindrance to national security. Don’t get too excited. To those who say: “finally” and “he realized he’s an asshole” you have mistaken the situation. He will continue to block the 11 highest-ranking military leadership promotions.

Turberville is holding seats open for Trump to fill. He has not suddenly become self aware, nor does he feel guilty for restraining our military readiness. He is not buckling under pressure. He’s still a traitor doing Trump’s bidding, and he’s proof our government needs reform.

The U.S. has over 168,000,000 registered voters. One individual, elected in a special election by 1,392,075 voters, is single-handedly undermining our national security. Turberville is enjoying power he shouldn’t have. We need reform.

  1. I just read this news on my phone. “It’s over” he says. But then the fine print….except for these 11 four-star generals. What a jerk. What point is he trying to make? And how can this not happen again? The government definitely needs reform.

    1. Our media is a big problem. Most of the headlines are misleading, almost like it’s intentional.
Tuberville is doing what Trump tells him to do, holding top positions for him to fill.

      1. I know you’ve been reading what Trump wants to do to our country when (he says) he gets reelected. Crazy and scary as hell, Lydia. And some people are OK with that? Oh, yeah. All the nut jobs will fill positions that he will create just for his pleasure. He needs to go to jail. Quickly.

      2. Yes! He’s a lunatic and he isn’t holding back. There is no quiet part; his dictator dreams are spoken out loud. He really has shined a light on our country’s ugly underbelly.
If he finds a way to win it will be our last election. Canada will need to build a wall.

  2. I think the best way to beat Trump is ~ the Biden Administration taking our southern border seriously. The Mexican/U.S. Border is Biden’s Achilles Heel. It is killing his campaign. Less resistance to Republicans in regard to the border would help Democrats ~ and Biden. What do you think?

    1. I don’t know enough about this subject as it stands today to give an informed opinion, so this is my uninformed speculation.

I don’t trust the statistics reported by the media, that (dodge) caravans of migrants are crossing into the southern border in alarming numbers. The number is consistent with previous decades. It is disingenuous xenophobic fear mongering for votes, and it works- “they’re coming to take the jobs” (that no one wants.)

Billionaires who own the media need a Republican government to continue their avoidance of paying into Social Security and taxes at the same rate as the middle class. They prefer to keep wages low and work rules unregulated. The greed and lack of empathy is incomprehensible. They became billionaires through exploitation of employees, consumers, and government policies. (my opinion)

It’s easy to point out disinformation in Russia, China, and other authoritarian countries, but we are victims of propaganda as well. It’s not through the government in our case, it’s the wealthiest 1% who tell tales.

Back to the topic of the southern border, it has been a GOP talking point for years, and like the subject of Hunter Biden, I stopped listening. Republicans vote against every border security bill the Democrats offer. Christo-fascist Speaker, Mike Johnson is focused on taking money from Ukraine to put in the hands of Beebe Netanyahu because that helps Putin.

Biden is not neglecting the issue. There is not an “open border.” The White House policy is “expedited removal” and leading individuals toward legal “pathways to citizenship.”
We do have a responsibility to those people fleeing violence in countries that have become dangerous as a result of our policies.

I can’t help repeating— I remember where we were four years ago. Trump’s border-patrol separating children from their parents without documenting who they were or where they were taking them. Hundreds of them will never be reunited with their families. Where are they? Some were adopted out (sold) by Eric Prince’s sister, former education secretary, Betsy DeVos. The rest, the pretty girls and boys, I wouldn’t be shocked to learn they were trafficked. This happened in the early days of Russia’s attack on Ukraine; children were taken.
I also remember the southern border’s for profit migrant camps built and run by unregulated, third parties, where abuse occurred regularly.
Trump’s corruption is harder to reverse than it was to create.

I’m not so far removed as to think everything our current administration has done is without fault. But the biggest problem we have is the media.

We have 11 months to convince people that the choice is between democracy and autocracy. This will be our last election if Trump wins and if we don’t have enough of a majority in Congress to reform flawed policies. We need to end the possibility of another minority elected President. Today’s GOP belongs to Putin. Over 40 mainstream Republican members of Congress are not seeking reelection for that reason. What will be left of the GOP is not a U.S. political party.

When the threat Trump poses is gone and the GOP “Freedom Caucus” who planned 1/6 is imprisoned or have fled, I’ll feel safe to criticize Biden’s perceived faults. The media are already focused on normalizing Trump as a candidate and trying to make Biden look feeble or corrupt.
IMO—no one could have succeeded in the past three years like Biden has done.

🧐 This response is longer than my post was. 🙃 I don’t have answers, only opinions.

      1. I got smote by a Katie Britt speech concerning the border. She’s the other Republican senator from Alabama. And I’ve been stumbling under the influence of Lauren Boebert, the Republican representative from Colorado. They had her announce a further implementation of the Biden impeachment, which is wholly concerned with the border and immigration.

Being an old horndog, I’m immensely impressed with all the young ladies in congress. They’re very good at pulling heart strings, of which I still have a few. They all are really amazing! Not to mention AOC growing up before our very eyes ~ in congress!

But the border ~ it’s real easy not to talk about the border. But it seems to be demanding more and more attention. Anyway, I’ve been living in Yuma, Arizona ~ and its only a few miles away from ~ the border. I don’t even go down there and look at what was built of the wall. I know it’s there. So what?

People from your part of the nation don’t seem to have a clue about the border. You might as well not even talk about it. But I think it’s getting harder and harder to pretend like it’s not here. Major cities are getting influenced ~ like Chicago and New York.

Anyway, the same old explanation applies ~ humane solutions don’t work without severe solutions in place ~ like the wall and the system that was being built around it ~ something people could see with their eyes. The Border Patrol was thrilled. When Biden first came into office and plucked all that into the trash can, I and others knew it would come back and bite him in the ass.

As long as our two political parties keep destroying what the other is doing instead of adding to it, we’re in trouble (my computer is acting up).

        Later.

      2. I agree 100% that I have no business talking about the border, but you asked my thoughts.
I feel the same way about Hamas and Netanyahu.
It’s not my lane. That should have been the extent of my reply.
I appreciate your comments and opinions.

  3. You’re the gracious hostess! I’m a gimpy guest. Please accept my sorrow regret & apology for being rude! Of course, it’s your business to say whatever you wish to say about anything, anytime, anyplace, on this flight. I yearn to hear what you think all the time whether you know what you’re talking about or not, on this swift and smooth blog that has wings & sails & where we passengers, if we stay in line, feel welcome, maybe, to talk a little bit like pirates…

You might get pissed off, but I have to make a confession. I’ve been greedily occupying three seats on your blog. Through mishap & repairs throughout the years, I’ve wound up with three gravatars. I’ve been employing all three here. Please forgive me…

You weren’t rude and I’m not offended.
Thanks for all the follows. If you were to unfollow me 3x, that would hurt.
