Meet Louisiana’s U.S. House Representative, Mike Johnson, our new Speaker. His Republican peers unanimously elected him. Mike Johnson is a Trump man. Trump owns the Republican House of Representatives. I have no doubt Johnson had the full support of his party because he was Trump’s choice. Johnson was the chief architect of the House GOP’s efforts to repeal the 2020 results. He wrote an amicus brief, a legal framework of, that his colleagues said empowered them to overturn the election. He worked for ‘Alliance Defending Freedom,’ a designated a hate group by the SPLC.

Johnson is now second in line to the presidency.
That Johnson is an election denier alone should disqualify him from holding any position in government. Why haven’t members of congress who participated in 1/6 been indicted?
Johnson is anti-LGBTQ+, and worked to strip basic civil rights and civil liberties from the LGBTQ+ community in Louisiana. He is anti-gay marriage. He authored the federal ‘Don’t Say Gay’ legislation. Johnson co-sponsored legislation that would make it a felony for providers to perform gender-affirming care.

Johnson’s efforts to cut Social Security and Medicare are documented. If he is given the authority to do so, he intends to:
- Raise the retirement age
- Decimate middle class benefits
- Make annual cost-of-living increases smaller
- Wants to privatize Social Security and Medicare
Johnson hates women. He voted against the ‘Violence Against Women Act’ and against the ‘Women’s Health Protection Act.’ He supports Louisiana’s abortion law, which is a near-total ban, including in cases of rape and incest, and allows physicians to be fined or jailed for performing the procedure.

“Perform an abortion and get imprisoned at hard labor”
~Republican’s new Speaker, Mike Johnson
Johnson is against aid to Ukraine, because Russia owns Trump. He did agree to link aid for Ukraine with aid for Israel. Probably because:
As Matt Gaetz say, Speaker Johnson will be prohibited from bringing up a bill linking Israel/Ukraine aid because “more than half the conference opposes it.”
A recap of Johnson’s ideological flaws:
- Anti-Abortion
- Anti- Women’s Protection Act
- Anti-LGBTQ+
- Anti-Social Security and Medicare
- Anti-Democracy Insurrectionist
- Election Denier
- Anti-Vaxxer
Johnson could potentially try to influence the outcome of the 2024 election, like he did in 2020. This is why Trump chose him. When asked if he was worried President Biden responded –
“Just like I was not worried the last guy would be able to overturn the election, I understand the constitution.”
President Joe Biden.

Imagine this guy as Pence’s running mate. Scares the hell out of you, doesn’t it?

I can’t believe any of this is happening. They have found every crack in our system of government and exploited it then made it almost impossible to reverse. And they aren’t even smart!

We’ll have to see how this guy does. First question he is asked (by Rachel Scott/ABC) about Trump and the election and he shakes his head and refuses to answer. Twice! And the other GOP-ers tell her to shut up. This is craziness.

I saw that. That old woman, Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, reminds me of the “Where’s the beef!” commercial decades ago. Everyone knows who she is now; her bad.
It should be an interesting year. Thankfully Biden always finds a way to outsmart them.

I hope they are also busy making campaign ads and airing them in every marginal district with a republican who voted for this dirt bag. Getting this dude out of power should be job 1.

I hope so too.

Are you sure this guy is second in line to the presidency? I thought the vice-president is second in line to the presidency…

The Vice President is considered first in line. I thought the same thing. Biden isn’t in line. 🙂

Oh, wait! I understand now. I’ve figured it out all by myself. The vice-president is FIRST in line to the presidency. My mistake. Sorry to bother you…

You aren’t bothering me. I thought the same.

Ah, shucks! You beat me to the punch. You’ve corrected me before I could correct myself. That’s okay. You got one quick draw, madam!

I guess we might call this a criss-cross conversation we just had, huh?

I am reluctant to add to this conversation, but I cannot help myself. If Joe Biden were to die, and then come back to life, alas, it might then be considered he be first in line to the presidency. I mean, logically speaking, would this not be so?

This question feels like story math, which my fancy calculator doesn’t do. Without the aid of electronics, I would say you are correct. Another scenario that might put Biden first in line would be if he was cloned.

If Joe Biden was cloned? This suggestion has induced me to recall a paperback science-fiction novel I read years ago, in which a man’s soul was downloaded into a computer that was then hidden inside an ice-cream truck ~ and the man became the ice-cream truck. I may be stepping into murky waters here, but, but if this were to happen to Mr. Biden, a type of cloning, far-fetched, yes, but ~ do you suppose he would still be ~ first in line instead of the vice-president?

If Biden’s Clone was an ice-cream truck, I think he’d happily step out of the line of succession because he loves ice-cream that much.

Just to see that picture of those lunatics, praying in Congress, makes me feel like puking.

Mike Johnson doesn’t believe in the separation between church and state and is claiming we misunderstood the founding fathers. I’m ready for him the be removed like McCarthy was. I’m attaching a link if anyone is interested.

I think McCarthy was kicked out because he wasn’t lunatic enough for the modern GOP. They might have found one who fits the bill.
