HALFTIME 2014

It’s almost June. June is halftime for the year 2014. Halftime in my life is, as it is in football. It’s time for me to reflect on my forward progress this year to date. I can then roll out my next play, and then at the end of the year: win or lose (or just continue to exist), I can say I played my best game.

At the pace I’ve been progressing, by the end of this season, my life will have a high winning percentage. So vastly improved by a power sweep, that I won’t be in possession of a foul to post.

In the end zone so far this season:

• visited the gym (working on my tight end),

• raked last years leaves (a turnover of old leaves),

• started a blog (too many men on the field),

• maintained my current level of debt (thank you salary cap),

• retained employment (odds are, there will be overtime),

• decreased my posting and commenting on Facebook (which has greatly reduced my offensive lines),

• self diagnosed my teenagers affliction as “senioritis” (excessive time outs),

• and, saved $4. Per month by scratching my unnecessary (land) line.

I don’t expect to keep up this pace. It could potentially cause an injury which would land me on the bench for the second half, forcing a time out.

On the roster for the second half:

• try to balance the (bottom) line by clipping another $4 per month. Perhaps I could take a cheap shot and cutback internet service,

• condition myself to respond periodically, without rolling my eyes to flankers who are excessively verbose (or drop kick them)

• and my”next feat, perhaps; will/ be. To work” on ! ‘my punctuation (multiple offense)
