Elon Musk’s Election Interference

If Musk ever heard the expression, “with great power comes great responsibility,” he never internalized the words.

Now I need a minute to nerdsplain: Dating back to 45 B.C., in the writings of Roman philosopher Cicero, “The Sword of the Damocles.” 18the century French author Voltaire is often credited with the phrase, repeated by Winston Churchill, Noam Chomsky, and finally Peter Parker 😉

Okay, moving on.

Elon Musk bought Twitter, he said because he felt the need to champion first amendment rights. [HA!] Since then, he reinstated users banned for hate speech and inciting violence. Now that the rich guy owns Twitter, he uses it to push a far-right agenda and suspend liberal accounts.

In truth, Musk purchased Twitter to control content, which he forces on an unwilling audience. Last week he posted a video made using AI (Artificial Intelligence) that is quite realistic of Kamala Harris making statements meant to turn people against her. When confronted, he said, “it is meant to be a parody.” Nowhere does it say so. I’m not posting it for obvious reasons.

Peter Sousa’s account was locked after he posted this photo. Twitter bots claimed Sousa deleted his own account because he couldn’t handle the MAGA backlash. Sure, Jan.

Elon locks liberal accounts that are not breaking “the rules,” but for revealing the truth. Most recently, he suspended the account of a white house photographer for posting a clear picture of Trump’s ear, days after the “assassination attempt,” showing no sign of injury. Too late, the picture was out.

My personal experience is a lesser example. Shortly after Elon Musk bought Twitter, without explanation or notification, my account has been restricted. Despite having over 10,000 followers, I get four views when I post. My dog, has an account with ten followers. His posts are seen by dozens, political or not. I realize I am lucky he hasn’t completely deleted my account. I’ve only been “shadowbanned”, —> “Timeline shadowban: user’s tweets do not appear on the timeline or news feed of his followers. This reduces the user’s ability to reach their existing audience, as their posts are not displayed in the regular stream of content that their followers see.”

My dog’s account.

That’s neither here nor there, apart from it spotlighting the hypocrisy of Elmo’s claim to defend the 1st Amendment. He only does so if the views are in line with his agenda.

Musk is so desperate for Donald Trump to be reelected, he has violated election interference laws. The DOJ is investigating. (Deport him!)

Millions of people have shared the following website. It is a legitimate government one-stop enrollment page, containing everything you need to vote, confirm your registration, request mail-in ballots, and offers links on how, when and where to exercise your right, in your state:

Musk created a similar website:

Elon Musk has created a link that mimics USA.gov. Under the guise of helping voters register, this PAC collects information from residents in swing states but doesn’t register them. People think they registered to vote, but they did not. The data is passed on to Trump’s team.

Again, Musk is deceptively gathering personal data from people. He leads them to believe they’re registering to vote. Swing-state voters are singled out, prompted to divulge their age, address, phone number, and other sensitive data to the Tesla CEO’s organization, but not provided with links to legitimate voter registration sites. Non-swing-state residents are given the links to register. The data collected is passed on to RNC operatives.

This is illegal. On behalf of Trump’s 2016 campaign, Cambridge Analytica, Facebook’s data analytics company, exploited the personal details of millions without their consent. The organization accessed this knowledge through a third-party app that collected information, exposing 87 million users’ data. A $725 million in a class-action settlement was reached with the FTC.

Elon’s purpose in mirroring the efforts of Cambridge Analytica’s scraping data from tens of millions of voters to manipulate content and keeping them from registering to vote. Elmo must believe he’s immune to the law.

Did you know your tax dollars fund Elon Musk? According to Good Jobs First’s Subsidy Tracker, “since 2009, Tesla has received $2.8 billion in government subsidies. About 88% of those contributions originated from states, the rest from federal handouts. The state of Nevada has given Tesla $1.6 billion across tax rebates and grants from 2013 to 2023.”

Socialism for the rich.

But why is Elon so desperately supporting Republicans? He would rather not pay taxes, sure, but there is another reason. He is trying to resist a subpoena in an Epstein legal case.
