Iran’s President, A Game of Telephone

The helicopter carrying Iran’s president suffers a “hard landing,” state TV says. This is how the story has evolved:

  • The first report I heard was of a “hard landing.”
  • The second report called it a crash.
  • The third report said the helicopter went missing.

To be fair, unless it is a midair or tarmac collision, all crashes involve a hard landing.

Iranian leaders are asking for our prayers. Political strife in a theocratic nation that subjugates women doesn’t deserve prayers by anyone who believes women are equal to men.

We have our own problems.

Perhaps they were begging prayers from small kick energy, Kansas City Chiefs’, Harrison Butker. Last week, Butker gave the commencement speech at Benedictine College. During his 20-minute address, he denounced abortion rights, Pride Month, COVID-19 lockdowns and “the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion.” He said women should aspire to be housewives above all else. (Replace him with a woman.) Butker’s insults against the LGBTQ community, reeks of:

The Lady doth protest too much, methinks.” ~Shakespeare

Butker sandwiched between the infamous couple that, in August 2020, stood on their porch pointing a semiautomatic rifle and handgun at protesters.
