Today, Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted pedophile accused of sexually abusing dozens of girls, has been denied bail by a federal judge. He will remain in jail pending trial.
Last week prosecutors entered Epstein’s New York mansion finding, among other things, a passport with a photo of Epstein, under a different name and date of birth, that his listed residence was Saudi Arabia. Additionally, they found loose diamonds, cash, and boxes filled with photos of naked or partially clad children.
A decade ago Epstein was arrested for the sexual assault of 40 girls, but a plea deal arranged with Trump’s former Secretary of Labor, Alex Acosta, allowed Epstein to leave jail on ”work release” 12 hours a day, six days a week.
New victims have come forward with charges that Epstein assaulted them during the time he was serving that 13-month prison sentence.
It is believed Epstein’s victims number well over 100.
Not quite as cushy as the accommodations of his last arrest, the Metropolitan Correctional Center is where Epstein now resides, described as a ”fortress-like jail criticized by inmates and lawyers for harsh conditions.”
Epstein’s case demonstrates the importance of the free press and how one fearless investigative journalist, Julie K Brown, can effectively fight injustice.

I’m so relieved he wasn’t able to post bail. I am kind of worried that he might have an “accident” in prison preventing from standing trial.

I was relieved too. I didn’t know what to expect this morning. He would have disappeared.
I was surprised Barr didn’t upgrade Epstein’s reservation— I didn’t think of the possibility of an ”accident”— that might explain where they’re holding him.
I do hope he gets a little payback, but he needs to be able to talk.
I’ve been worried about the victims.

Same here. They’re vulnerable to threats and worse.

I think people are getting fed up to the teeth with the amount of sleaze taking place in this current administration. Every day you read about some individual or other who has acted unethically or immorally. America is better than this and Americans deserve better than what is currently taking place. Roll on 2020 and let’s see a return to decency and a respect for civic norms. Enough is enough.
