Three Blind Mice

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt

I am guilty of focusing on the negativity of politics, so in an attempt to focus on the positive, today I will list that for which I am thankful:

1. I’m not Sean Spicer. MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski compared Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s “press briefing” on Saturday to a hostage video…I see it.

Regardless of the fact that his claims are easily disproved, “The largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period“, the words he recites are inconsequential. At first glance we see what on the surface appears to be anger and bubbling rage, but if we look closer into his eyes we see a melding of panic, vacant detachment, hopelessness, and despair. Someone needs to get him out.

2. I am not Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to the President, although she does seem to belong beside Trump. Her unabashed dishonesty, and coining of new phrases “AlternativeTruth”, will serve the purpose of helping Trump distract the world from the damage taking place behind closed doors—such as Trump’s “America First Energy Plan,” which in actuality puts corporate profits first by rolling back all efforts to fight climatize change.

3. Rounding out my list of three, I am not Reince Priebus, chief of staff. His job seems to be bullying the press into submission— “We are going to fight back tooth and nail.”

In conclusion, I have much to be thankful for, regardless of my place in society, running on a middle class, working poor hamster wheel that leads to nowhere…it could be worse.

      1. I have a feeling that a smart journalist can goad her into an implosion. I keep hoping she’ll say something so heinous that the walls will come tumbling down.

  1. It’s funny how the majority of the cabinet look like out of a freak show.
The Spicer guy, he looks hepatic, maybe he is. But he reminds me of one of the vampires from that movie Underworld. No color, his eyes look weird. Don’t know. The looks don’t help at all, yesterday I started to watch the press conference and couldn’t handle it. Between the aggressive way he reads, the pile of names he was throwing (“is you support us I’ll say your name on TV”), the alternative facts and the way he looks, such a turn off.
