A lifetime of self doubt
And internal debate
Has taught me a lesson
I feel the need to relate
Life is scary change is hard
But to abdicate
Existence to fear
A dull blade poised to castrate
Adventure is life’s essence
Why capitulate
To the disappointment
That retreating will no doubt create
Chance may not offer
Twice to ameliorate
Missed opportunities in life
One can not recreate
