A Holiday Lesson

Another day off without pay. How does one make a living?

On this early morning, the rainy day of Thanksgiving

My sister does this one—it’s not my holiday to host

She toils over a feast, meanwhile on an exercise bike I coast

I laugh as I sweat and people think I’m crazy

I wipe away tears at this—my chance to be lazy

It’s a stress laugh because I know after today

Christmas is mine—so tomorrow I pay

Tomorrow the start of my holiday freak out

But for today a mimosa after a gentle workout

One more thought to ponder regarding each day

You should enjoy this one because, come what may

Tomorrow is not guaranteed— give this some thought

Your appendix could burst, or you could get a blood clot 😉

Happy Thanksgiving! _________________________________
