My Head

If I had

A day 

To spend

Anyway I wished

I would spend it

Without 

My head

Clear and free 

Of all thoughts

No

Looming bills

Teenaged drama

Work cattiness

Household maintenance issues

Nothing

If I could let it all go for a day

I could visit a

Museum 

Concert 

Play 

Spa 

I might 

Stay in bed 

With a book

I am an adult

I could make that day happen

But

I don’t 

Because

My head insists 

On joining in

Accompanying me 

Wherever I go

My thoughts 

Worries 

The lists 

Like it or not

My head is my

Constant 

Companion
