Sleep feels so good
Feeding my exhaustion
4am
The sound
Crying
Confusion
It’s a baby
A baby in my house
Clarity
I have a baby
That’s my baby crying
Which means
I’m a mom
That crying baby
Is mine
Time to be
A mom
I will sleep
When I’m dead

I thought I would eventually learn how to sleep again, but actually, I still can’t sleep. It’s 46 years later. I’m still listening for the baby. Happy Mother’s Day!
