If I’ve learned one thing in my many years
It’s that if you want to avoid anger and jeers
You won’t ventilate
Or ever debate
Religious beliefs or insight ignorant fears

Nevertheless, I grew up in a melting pot
With friends who’ve represented a lot
Of different beliefs
I’ve never felt grief
In knowing the friends that I’ve got

Live and let live- of that we need more
To me an oxymoron is: “Holy War”
All faiths subjected to
My analytic review
Of organized religions, though I’m not keeping score:

abuse alienation anger conviction corruption
disappointment ethics exclusion faith fear hope judgement kindness love misunderstanding
murder oppression peace persuasion prejudice resentment restrictions rituals rules suspicion violence war
