Conversations and Texts – Three Teens & Mom

Are you up?
Did I forget the potatoes in the oven last night?
Are you up?
Please put your dishes in the dishwasher when you are finished.
Did you feed the lizard?
Are we out of crickets?
Do the crickets have gel?
Are you home?
Be careful!
Do I need to stop for crickets?
I forgot it’s trash day, can u please take out the trash?
Will you please take up your laundry?
Did I forget the potatoes in the oven last night?
What time will you be home?
What do you want to eat?
Stopping for groceries, what do you want to eat?
Do you have homework?
Where are all the towels?
Take all your shoes upstairs.
The vacuum cleaner is clogged, who knows what happened?
Can you put the towels in the dryer?
I won’t be home until 6 or later.
Be careful.
Luv u.
Did you eat anything today?
Did you look in the oven? Are there potatoes in the oven??
You left the garage open… AGAIN.
There are skunks out there you know. If they move into the garage and I get sprayed some morning on my way to work it will be your fault.
Do the dogs have water?
Do you have homework?
How is rehearsal going?
How’s math going?
What’s up with the the D-?
Why is your room such a mess?!
I can’t even open the door all the way. It smells like something died in there.
Do you have anything to go back to the library?
Where are all the towels?
How are you feeling? Better?
You are old enough to make yourself something to eat once in a while.
THE POTATOES ARE STILL IN THE OVEN! Seriously, I asked you to look three days ago!
I love you.

  1. Well, while i sat here bitching about their not giving us a prompt you wrote a wonderful free-write, Lydia. A perfectly clear view of a morning with kids. Now, just what is cricket gel? See what the childless miss out on? Judy

    1. My sons bearded dragon eats live crickets. The large ones are fourteen cents each. Every week I go buy a bag of 30. We feed the crickets a protein powder and give them cubes of liquid gel to keep them hydrated so they live long enough to be fed to the lizard. The food chain. Ridiculous! I buy food for the food. Thanks for the kind words!
