Loud talkers please be aware-
I am concerned that you are involuntary subjecting me to criminal charges, and I’ll tell you why-
I’ve overheard you speak of:
your menstrual irregularities,
the painful catheter that your urologist used to treat your bladder infection,
your flatulence,
the way you’d do a colonoscopy prep different next time… and why
the time of your very regular bowel movements,
the reason for your low sperm count,
and many such maladies.
There are HIPPA laws that are in place to protect your privacy. I realize that these conversations did not take place in a medical environment, but in crowded public areas, however, these laws do exist.
There is no exemption because you are:
in a grocery store,
in a restaurant,
on an airplane,
at the theater,
in the library,
in an elevator,
or anyplace.
Please don’t put me at risk for violating these laws.
Lower your voice.

DAILY PROMPT
Head Turners
We often hear strange snippets of conversation as we walk through public spaces. When was the last time you overheard something so interesting, ridiculous, or disturbing you really wanted to know what it was all about?

I wanted to Like twice because your response is in a similar vein to mine. Is nothing private anymore and why should we have to listen to it? Perhaps we should join in with their conversations – top their health issue with one of our own – or pass on a remedy (but in the case of the flatulence – from a distance – maybe shouted).

Good idea, I’ll try joining in the conversation! I wonder if everyone has gone deaf, or do they want attention.

I think they just don’t realise how their behaviour has an effect on others – and some are just showing off.

Lydia–you have nailed it. Do you want more details on any of the above topics? Let me tell you about this girl at work. Uh, hello, honey! Close your damn door when you call your doctor!
